ABOUT USBreeding and raising Quarter Horses had its beginning with us back in 1943. One of Utah's first registered Quarter Horses, Riley, was purchased by my father Lawrence during that year. ![]() (This picture of Lawrence Thomas and Riley was taken back in 1945. Riley had just won a race in Moroni, Utah.)Our present day breeding program consists of a quality, select group of broodmares. This is due, in part, to that statement. We recognize the value of the broodmare in a successful breeding program. We take great pride in our Driftwood, Hancock and Leo bred stallions. With our breeding goals in place, their colts and our customers are telling us our aim is on target. We offer no frills, just good horses. Our horses run where they can get plenty of exercise. The broodmares are often pasture bred. The foals are born out in the open and run with other horses. The results are good health, more stamina and better ablility to relate to other animals and country. Most of our colts are sold as weanlings at our production sale. Our top selling baby - a filly - in our first annual sale sold for $2100. Our high selling horse colt brought $2500. Last year, the high-selling yearling went for $3400 and the high-selling started horse sold for $3600. All of these horses were sired by My Blue Drift. |
